Mrs. Sarah M. GREGG 75, widow of the late Samuel H. Gregg died at the family home on N. Water Street, Thursday morning at 7:30 of heart trouble. Mrs. Gregg had been in frail health for some time but the illness had been critical the last two weeks. Mrs. Gregg was the daughter of George and Ann SHANKLIN MUNNS, pioneers of the county and born and reared at the Pines the Munns farm west of the city. She married Samuel H. Gregg in 1870 and to them one son, George M. Gregg was born. He preceded his mother in death. She is survived by a grandson, Kirltey Gregg a daughter-in-law, Jessie Gregg, one sister, Mrs. Arch Austin of this city and one niece, Mrs. George E. Grimes. Mrs. Gregg, by virtue of her long residence in the county was in the days of good health an interesting conversationalist on local history and in the current events. She was blessed with a good memory and coming from a familyu that had been identified with the things done, in the growth and welfare of the nation, she had many remiescences as to early days and customs. The deceased was a faithful Methodist and when in helath was active in its duties and requirements. Funeral services will be held from the late home Sat afternoon at 2:30 with burial in Oak Hill. The services will be conducted by Rev. GW Switzer of Lafayette, assisted by Rev BE Kirkpatrick, pastor of the 1st ME Church.-transcribed by kbz
